The Australian electrical certification landscape has shifted significantly in recent months. The government’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) initiative has generated a remarkable and unexpected surge in applications, and strong unseasonable demand across consumer product certifications has added to this.

While we’re proud that so many businesses are trusting EESS Conformity Certification to bring their products to market, we want to be honest: this volume has placed pressure on our usual turnaround times.

We moved quickly the moment we recognised the scale of the challenge. Here’s what’s already underway:

• We have engaged two new assessors, with a further appointment imminent.
• Our Priority Service has been suspended for the moment. We are happy to discuss with clients who need a clear pathway.
• We have used this moment as a prompt to review and streamline our internal processes, creating efficiencies that will serve you well into the future.
• We have focused all of our assessors and support staff on reviewing applications, whilst I manage general communication.

We anticipate a return to normal within two months or less. In the meantime, if your project has time-sensitive requirements, please reach out to me directly to discuss options on how we can best support your timeline.

Challenges like this one sharpen us. When we emerge from this period, EESS Conformity Certification will have greater capacity, more assessors and more efficient processes than ever before.
